Qdoba Dinner and White Bordeaux

Image
Okay so the pairing could of been better, but I really wanted Qdoba.  2020 Blanc De Costis, A white Bordeaux. From Targon, France. This blend is 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon. Light and Buttery. Lemon with a hint of herb. It has a fatty aftertaste with a salty taste. Salt compliments the wine wells. The food does not blend well with wine but the tortilla chips do! Overall, delicious wine!

Red and Crab wine

This dinner I had this red wine with ham pizza from Pks resturant in Blacksburg VA. The fatty and cheesy pizza with the chianti made this meal two time better. This lighter blend red was fruity and closer to the sweeter side which I liked. It had rich oaky flavor that paired really well with the food.  Earthy taste and Citrus/ lemon flavor. If I had to think of a place this wine sends me, it would have me on a fresh sunny afternoon or morning sitting out in the grass under the sun on a warm day. Lemonade stand basically. It is like a Veggie grape and a salty aftertaste that is similar to lemon.  A sharp smell that is sour and earthy.  Dry, sour, and oaky smell is in flavor and smell.  During this tasting today I am eating Pizza flavored Pringles. The pizza Pringles with the wine does not really have too much effect on the wine. However the pizza flavor of the chips were enhanced after sipping the wine. Except they don't really pair well together.

Dinner on the Mountain while drinking a mountain:)

The other evening my family came out of town and we went to Mountain Lake lodge and had a wonderful seafood buffet dinner. We ordered a red blend to go with our seafood buffet. It was an Argentina wine from Valle De Uco vineyard. The wine is a red blend of Malbec and Cabernet Franc.  The wine has a slight body and a bit of an oaky harder taste. There was a hint of herbal spice and black cherry. It can also be close to a little bit floral or fruity. The blend went well with seafood. It was medium sweet so it did not fight the taste of seafood too badly. The seafood was specifically on the savory side so it paired well instead of a white citrus wine.

Out on South Main street in B-burg!

I was at vintage cellar and had the opportunity to try two wines! One was a Tutela Rose the grape was Prosecco! This wine was very delicious and in the middle between sweet and bitter almost perfectly. This sparkling wine had a fruity smell and light fruit like taste. This beautiful wine was completely forgotten when i got to taste another sparkling wine, a Rinaldi Moscato. This Moscato from Asti Spumante in Italy had a very honey flavor which made it very delicately sweet and fruity like.
